Known for his meticulous eye and attention to detail, British photographer and director Steve Harries is driven by a sustained interest in how environments are constructed and experienced through images. His visual language is both formally experimental and technically precise, drawing on cinema, painting, music, poetry, sculpture, and expanded concepts of landscape. Moving fluidly between still life, luxury and portrait work alongside his visual arts practice, Harries brings a conceptual confidence alongside a deep awareness of art history, design and image-led narrative which lends his images both a timelessness and a contemporary sophistication.

His monograph Octopus (RVB Books, 2022), a study of mountain landscapes and glaciers, was shortlisted for the Aperture Photo Book Awards, whilst Studio Botanical (self-published, 2017) reworks the botanical field journal to explore the strange, atmospheric qualities of natural forms. Harries has worked with clients including Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, Cartier, Dior, Hermès, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, Moncler, Nike, Rimowa, Rolex, The New Yorker, and WSJ.
