Ilya Lipkin is a photographer and visual artist born in Riga, and based between New York and Berlin. His photographic work exists at the intersection of art and consumer culture, informed by both psychology and pop, and shaped by a curiosity about how images are constructed and understood. His art practice mines the codes and conventions of fashion media and aspirational content to interrogate beauty standards, gender identity, and networked erotics.

Moving between fashion and art, studio and street, his commercial work blends the language of editorial and fine art photography, working across genres to create dynamic, subversive and off-kilter results. A graduate of the Whitney Independent Study Program, his work has been exhibited at Lars Friedrich, Berlin; Svetlana, New York; High Art, Arles; and Webber Gallery. Editorial collaborations include AnOther Man, The Face, Fantastic Man, Interview, The Gentlewoman and GOAT. Clients include Nike, Supreme, Uniqlo, Versace, Aritzia, and Armani.
