Amy Stickland’s playful approach to set design is rooted in expression. Her objective is authenticity over technicality; nuance, nature and a trace of the human hand often play a part in her singular ephemeral sculptures, set scenes or painted backdrops, each one manifested through collaboration and conversation. With a background in Fine Art, Stickland turned her hand to building props and theatrical spaces before she began designing sets for photographs. Now, her work spans editorial, still life, moving image and installation – each project executed at the intersection of art and fashion, drawing on a spectrum of unprecedented references from the corners of contemporary culture.
Stickland has collaborated with photographers Lea Colombo, Brett Lloyd, Gareth McConnell, Mark Peckmezian, Nigel Shafran, Theo Sion and Ben Toms.
Clients include: AnOther, Double, Hermes, Moncler, Miu Miu, Nike, Red Valentino, Simone Rocha and US and Italian Vogue.
