Michele Rafferty

Michele’s sense of style and invention has brought successful and long standing working relationships with both luxury and high-street labels.
Her creative talents and her styling ability allow her to tune in to and approach each client from a design perspective, contributing to the development of any brand. Drawing from her extensive knowledge and own archive, she intuitively achieves unexpected and unconventional results that reflect her minimal aesthetic and interest in fabrics, structure, detail and proportion.
Michele is a Londoner. She started work at the tender age of 20 as a fashion assistant at Arena, Arena Homme Plus and The Face magazines, then published by Wagadon. While there, she formed a relationship with the creative director and began working on fashion shows in Milan; casting models, finding vintage clothing ideas and researching music and images for design inspiration. This was where she began to hone her particular talents and the stylistic expertise that enables her to bring relevant fashion and design ideas and new directions to brands and designers; whether that be for luxury labels, high street companies or small independents.
Michele is currently a consultant and stylist for Marni in Milan (since 2006). She works closely with ASOS in the UK. Clients have included Gucci, Oxfam, Dunhill, Levis, Kangol and many others. Wider consultancy projects include working with an artist furniture maker in East London , work with public figures and fashion writing, most recently contributing to the Observer Magazine’s fashion supplement. Her editorial work has appeared in Arena Homme Plus, GQ style, Bon, Creative Review, Exit, Feld Hommes, iD, Tank, V Magazine, the Observer, Port magazine and The Sunday Times.
